Double Deluxe vs Super Deluxe: Which Room at Royal Park?

At Hotel Royal Park, the Double Deluxe Room is from Rs 1,600 per night and the Super Deluxe Room from Rs 1,800, per room. Both have a comfort double bed for two guests. Super Deluxe is a larger room with an armchair, so choose it if you want more space.
What is the difference between the two rooms?
On paper they are close. Both are for two guests, both have a comfort double bed, and both are air conditioned with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. The Double Deluxe Room is from Rs 1,600 per night, and the Super Deluxe Room is from Rs 1,800 per night, per room.
The difference is space and a few details. The hotel describes the Double Deluxe as the most affordable room, and a bright one, with a green runner on the bed and a wardrobe. The Super Deluxe has a dark headboard, a wardrobe and an armchair, in a larger room.
It helps to think about how long you are staying. For a single night, the cheaper room is almost always the right call. For several nights, the extra space begins to pay for itself, because you spend more waking hours inside the room, working, resting or repacking. Keep that in mind when you choose, and do not be afraid to ask the desk which room is currently available if you have a clear preference.
Is the extra Rs 200 worth it?
It depends on how you will use the room. Rs 200 is a modest step, and what you buy is room to move and a chair. If you arrive for a night, sleep, and leave for an early train, the Double Deluxe does the job and keeps the bill low. If you plan to work from the room, spread out a laptop and papers, or simply sit comfortably in the evening, the armchair and extra floor space make the Super Deluxe a better pick.
Rates are per room, per night, so the difference is the same whether one or two people use it. Please reconfirm taxes when you book.
Look at your own habits, too. Some travellers barely sit down in a hotel room, spending the day out and the night asleep, and for them the extra space is wasted. Others live in the room, answering mail, taking calls and stretching out after a heavy day. Be honest about which of those you are, and the choice usually makes itself without any more thinking.
Which one suits which traveller?
Think about what the room has to do for you.
- Double Deluxe: a solo traveller or couple on a short stay, an early train, a tight budget.
- Double Deluxe: someone who will be out all day and needs only a good bed and cold air.
- Super Deluxe: a business visitor who will work in the room for an hour or two.
- Super Deluxe: a couple who want a little more space for luggage, particularly after a long trip.
- Super Deluxe: longer stays, where an armchair starts to matter.
What do both rooms share?
Air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a comfort bed. The hotel also lists 24-hour room service and a front desk, free parking on site and luggage assistance, none of which changes with the room you pick. The rooftop garden terrace, with lawn seating and parasol tables, is part of the hotel and is not tied to any one category.
So you are not choosing between a good stay and a bad one. You are choosing between two good stays with slightly different amounts of space.
What about two people sharing, or colleagues?
Both rooms have one double bed. If two colleagues travelling together need separate beds, look at the Twin Bed Room instead, from Rs 1,800 per night, which has two single beds. For three guests, the Triple Bed Room is from Rs 2,500.
Our separate article on the Twin Bed Room explains who it suits.
Does the Twin Bed Room change the maths?
It can. If two colleagues are travelling together, they have a choice between two Double Deluxe rooms at Rs 1,600 each, one Twin Bed Room at Rs 1,800, or a mix. The Twin is often the sensible answer, because it costs less than two rooms and keeps the pair together.
If you are a couple, the Double Deluxe or Super Deluxe is the natural choice. If you are a solo traveller, you may prefer the Double Deluxe for the lower rate, and upgrade to the Super Deluxe only if you plan to work in the room.
Always ask for the current rate and confirm the taxes at the time of booking, because those are the numbers that count.
